The original "Sleep Tonight", from Stars' 2005 album Set Yourself on Fire, is all texture: guitar, organs, horns, sleigh bells, and no drumbeat. Amy Millan's voice disappears in that mix. But in Junior Boys' remix, it's brought back to the fore, the horns of the original replaced with a "horns" preset and a four-note baseline. Millan's voice is still light as ever here, but with just a keyboard and hand claps, her crystalline vocals have room to breathe-- literally.
