New Music: Dizzee Rascal: "The Industry" [Stream]
This first clip from Dizzee Rascal's upcoming third album, Maths and English, is a lot slower and sludgier than anything we've heard from the UK rapper. In this YouTube stream taken from the BBC's 1Extra, Dizzee Rascal gives a list of steps on how to succeed in the music industry-- something he knows about now, being on his third album. It actually sounds like good advice, with lines about buying a house before a car, getting a good manager, and getting a label that will "let you breathe artistically." It's too bad the track isn't anything to emulate-- his voice just isn't suited to this pace so his rhymes come off clunky and awkward. [Thanks to reader Paul Taylor for the tip]
