WTF: The White Stripes: "Icky Thump Preview"
The White Stripes' next album title, Icky Thump, seems like a bad decision. But this barely-35-second clip of Jack White recording in the studio is even more confusing. It was teased as part of the band's album announcement on their official website, but the clip wasn't working at the time:
"Here now is a short film clip of The Stripes working on a thoroughly rough and ghastly early version of a track from the new album entitled 'I'm Slowly Turning Into You'
"(the actual music has been replaced with mid eighties sampling keyboard technology to prevent what industry analysts are now calling 'song poaching')"
This early version of the track is too fractured to get much perspective on, but we're more mesmerized by the dancing skeleton. Is he a producer? An engineer? A representative of the Stripes' innermost thoughts? Michel Gondry? [Via Brooklyn Vegan]
