New Music: The Concretes: "Kids" [MySpace]
If this single's cover-- a little orange cassette tape dreaming the word "Kids"-- wasn't an indication, the new single from the Concretes' upcoming album Hey Trouble, is all about... childhood dreams!
Lead singer Lisa Milberg sounds oddly pained reminiscing on listening to records, riding bikes, and best friends. (Dude, was she pals with the Sov?) Still, the song is far more upbeat than their previous single "Oh No", with its dancey percussion, and (yup) childishly simple, skipping bassline. "Can we play it from the start?" Milberg asks. "Can we relive just the chorus?" Always.
