Video: Arctic Monkeys: "Brianstorm"
When "Brianstorm" debuted on BBC radio following a Klaxons single, it was easy to hear similarities between the two-- especially given that they share a producer, Simian Mobile Disco's James Ford. Now the video drives those similarities home: seizure-inducing jump-cuts, random stock footage, Fly Girls dancing in front of 80s-style Max Headroom projections. The non sequiturs and bright colors aren't exactly typical of Arctic Monkeys videos, and there might be a reason for that: Duran Duran's not their best look. Past videos chose a concept and stuck to it; the choreographed dance in "Brianstorm" is the only part that looks like it took any planning.
