Video: Stars of the Lid: "Apreludes (in C sharp major)"
"Apreludes (in C sharp major)" (MP3) was the first new cut we heard from ambient masters Stars of the Lid's forthcoming first album in five years, the double-disc Stars of the Lid and Their Refinement of the Decline. Now we have the music video, a 16mm film collage all done in dark blue and black, red and black, then white and black. The camera repeatedly pans across a forest path, never actually taking it. New, abstract images are laid over the footage as the song progresses, the changes keeping in time with the music.
The video was directed by Luke Savisky, who's done previous film work with Stars of the Lid, as well as Mercury Rev and Ed Hall. Bonus: Savisky was also in Slacker.
