Video: LCD Soundsystem: "North American Scum" (Live on "The Late Show with David Letterman")
If you caught LCD Soundsystem's first appearance on "The Late Show", where the band played "Daft Punk Is Playing at My House", you might notice some things similar to LCD's second appearance April 11. The band goes for an almost identical setup, with drums and keyboard in a U shape around leader James Murphy. And both shows have Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra on accompanying hand claps. This time the band does one better, and adds brass and keyboards to "North American Scum". Our only complaint is that the ticky rhythm of the song gets lost and muddied in the verses.
