Premiere: Beirut: "Elephant Gun" [Video]
A few weeks back we brought you photos from the set of Beirut's "Elephant Gun" music video. Here Beirut's Zach Condon looks like a hunter post-safari (nevermind that the 21-year old singer looks 17 and has the 'stache of Rhett Butler). The video features some wonderful choreography from JoAnn Jansen (Elizabethtown, Shall We Dance, and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights). It also has the feel of a drunken celebration, though Condon himself seems melancholy throughout, swaying back and forth with his eyes shut, as if his thoughts are elsewhere. Then the set collapses onto a beach, where Condon walks by himself, dragging a trail of cans, the waves matching his own liquid vocals. Despite the gorgeous costumes and sexy dancing, we were still distracted by one thing: that hair. Condon's got a great head of hair. The video was directed by Alma Har'el, who also helmed a video for Beirut's "Postcards From Italy", and for Balkan Beat Box.
