New Music: Pissed Jeans: "I've Still Got You (Ice Cream)" [Stream]

Pissed Jeans singer Matt Korvette probably drools a lot. He yowls through "I've Still Got You (Ice Cream)" like he's got big, ropey strands of Mastiff or Rottweiler saliva hanging from his slack jaw. Korvette's excited, you see, by the prospect of ice cream. He's even comforted by it. No matter how bad his life gets, he can always turn to a pint of Ben and Jerry's. Meanwhile his band pumps out a sympathetic brown slurry of dangerously loose early-1980s hardcore riffs and it's like listening to a juicy fart being forced through a prolapsed anus. The band-- drunkenly stewing away in Allentown, Pennsylvania and part of a cuddly and thuggish noise-rock renaissance-- knows that kind of desperation is funny as fuck, especially when played totally straight and set to the kind of roiling intestinal anguish you thought they stopped making when Chuck Dukowski left Black Flag.
