Ringtone: Andrew Bird: "Elizabeth the 1st" [MP3]
Whistling isn't just for Peter Bjorn and John. Violinist, songwriter, and longtime lip-puckerer Andrew Bird lends his own little Bird-song to a new commercial encouraging tourists to visit Illinois, his home state (and Pitchfork's, too). Called "Elizabeth the 1st", the 30-second ditty features acoustic guitars, violin, and drums in addition to Bird's down-home whistling. And it's available as a ringtone. Is it too late for Sufjan to write a song about this? (Thanks to reader Marc Sims for the tip.)
