Video: Grinderman: "Honey Bee (Let's Fly to Mars)" and "No Pussy Blues" (live on "Later With Jools Holland")

Nick Cave's new Grinderman project recently turned up on BBC2's "Later With Jools Holland" to support their self-titled debut (and Spinal Tap facial hair-fanciers everywhere). Cave takes the stage in a debonair suit jacket, alternating between pent-up organ stabs and the microphone on the raucous "Honey Bee (Let's Fly to Mars)". Luckily for Grinderman fans, the erstwhile Bad Seeds frontman still acts like he isn't getting any. "Won't somebody touch me?" he cries, equal parts sexual frustration and provocation.

By "No Pussy Blues", Cave has lost the jacket but not the, um, appetite. "I must above all love myself-uh," he booms, his voice taking on more Mark E. Smith tics than I remembered from the record. The rest of the band-- the Dirty Three's Warren Ellis, Bad Seed Martyn Casey, and Cramp/Bad Seed Jim Sclavunos-- enjoy some raunchy guitar squeals. There's something to be said for getting no satisfaction.
