Video: No Age: "Boy Void"

It's not your crappy internet connection, it's No Age. This video from the Los Angeles art-punk duo's forthcoming Weirdo Rippers skips between still performance photos and still random-ass photos like an amphetamine-addled iPhoto screensaver, suggesting you don't have to play long songs to have a lot on your mind. For instance: Roller coasters, flowers, French fries, open wounds, dwarves, bicycles, and dudes in Ramones shirts, all of which show up almost too fast to pick out in this clip.

Meanwhile, No Agers Randy Randall and Dean Spunt kickflip their three-chord feedback crunch somewhere outdoors, beneath a billboard we eventually watch them paint. Yeah, still in stop-motion. Compared to more dynamically varied tracks "My Life's Alright Without You" or "Neck Escaper", the rapidfire rattle of "Boy Void" seems an unlikely choice for a video-- blink and you won't know why your ears are ringing-- but No Age are a band with a good habit of making unlikely choices. Their take (cymbals clanging): "So obvious!"
