Pitchfork

Beginning with Scott Herren's multi-tracked voice, a plucked nylon string guitar, and delicately chiming cymbals, "Era Tu" sounds like it could have come from any time in the last 50 years or so. But then it builds a bit and the sounds start to swirl together and it seems more obviously a recent creation, the work of a committed studio rat who has spent logs of time in front of a computer figuring out where everything should go. Such oppositions are partly what Herren's neo-trad Savath & Savals project are all about.
