"It Fit When I Was a Kid (Crystal Castles Remix)" [MP3]

New Music: Liars: "It Fit When I Was a Kid (Crystal Castles Remix)" [MP3]

If Liars' Drum's Not Dead was too weird for you last year, this remix by Canadian 8-bit She-Ra fans Crystal Castles won't help. Or maybe it will, depending whether your tastes in weird lean toward impressionistic avant-punk or robotic, delirious electro-punk. The retro synths we've come to know from previous Crystal Castles tracks and remixes return on the duo's version of Liars' "It Fit When I Was a Kid", but little of the original remains except Angus Andrew's disembodied voice, which now takes on a cybernetic tinniness. Where Liars' forthcoming self-titled album brings back the rock, Crystal Castles take the group's sound down one non-rock avenue not explored during Drum's Not Dead's Berlin experimentation. Yes, you are dancing to Liars. Again.
