"You Know What It Is" [ft. Wyclef Jean]

Video: T.I.: "You Know What It Is" [ft. Wyclef Jean]

If you have a concept album, a video would seem like a useful way of helping us figure out that concept. Especially if you're T.I., and your concept involves two nearly identical split personalities. The video for "Big Things Poppin'", T.I. vs. T.I.P.'s first single, didn't clear up much confusion, but at least it had a winning swagger. T.I.'s latest video, for reggae-tinged "You Know What It Is", keeps up the braggadocio, but it makes even less sense. The Atlanta rapper and collaborator Wyclef Jean are on airplane "somewhere over Haiti." Then all the sudden Wyclef is assuring a scary dude that T.I. is T.I.P. "That's not a rapper, man," Wyclef says, even though he was totally just rapping. Next thing T.I. (or whoever) is at some fancy beach house flirting with scantily clad women. The sirens get old really fast.
