Video: Robyn: "With Every Heartbeat" [ft. Kleerup]
We weren't in love with the first video for "With Every Heartbeat", the No. 50 song on Pitchfork's 2006 top tracks of the year list. Now that Robyn has declared "Be Mine" to the UK with an expanded reissue of her beloved 2005 comeback album Robyn, she's back with a second video for the track, her collaboration with producer Kleerup. And it's a complete 180 from the shaky, lo-fi feel of its predecessor. Surrounding the Swedish pop princess, giant Lego-like blocks (Duplo?) (not Diplo) shift and shake with, hey, every programmed drum beat and squiggly synth line. Robyn's garb alternates between black and red, with a scarf around her neck, but unlike in the still-amazing "Be Mine" video, her hair definitely stays on her head. Bummer is, now she's just a pawn in Andreas Kleerup's studio. Thanks to Stereogum.
