The folks at La Blogothèque seem to have no trouble finding appealing French locales for their "Take-Away Shows" series. Austin, Texas indie-poppers Voxtrot are the latest beneficiaries of their sumptuous settings. An acoustic version of "Trouble", from the band's Your Biggest Fan EP, opens with a whistled snippet of what sounds like Elliott Smith's "Miss Misery", suggesting a possible influence for its winsome melody and junkie-minded lyrics. The performance takes place as police drive past nearby. "Soft and Warm", from the Mothers, Sisters, Daughters & Wives EP, has to venture in from the streets for Ben Foldsian piano. La Blogothèque also posted a "Take-Away Show" of an untitled song by Sparrow House, a project of Voxtrot's Jared Van Fleet; watch it here.
