Last week we premiered "What Would Wolves Do", our first taste of the forthcoming Les Savy Fav album Let's Stay Friends. It was a reflective, jangly, and tuneful track-- their "Boys of Summer", perhaps-- that suggested a new maturity for a band that has always flirted with the abyss. "The Equestrian", previously released on Adult Swim's Warm & Scratchy collection and also included on Let's Stay Friends, is a horse of a different color, however, and speaks to the record's diversity: the trebly guitar is pure raunch and lead singer Tim Harrington is yelling his head off, with lyrics about tasting sweat and something about, er, um, going into the stable for "a little mouth-to-mouth." [Insert carrot joke here.]
