Has Travis Morrison found his mojo? A few months after the Dismemberment Plan's rapturously received reunion shows-- and three years after one of Pitchfork's most notorious 0.0 ratings-- it'd be hard not to hope so. A few things are sure: The former D-Plan frontman has a new band, the Hellfighters, and a new album, entitled All Y'all and produced by ex-Plan bandmate Jason Caddell.

The first we heard of the forthcoming record, MySpace stream "Catch Up", was kinda all over the place. Barsuk has since offered a song from All Y'all as a free download: "As We Proceed", which comes closer to the jumpy indie rock that D-Plan devotees still dream about on frosty New Year's Eves. The verses' multi-layered percussion and guitar elements hearken back to Remain in Light-era Talking Heads, but also gratifying is the energetic chorus. Morrison's lyrics-- about being stoned on a boat, and other things a Catholic boy shouldn't fuck with-- remain witty and vivid. Whew.
