"Firecracker"

Video: Voxtrot: "Firecracker"

Austin indie-poppers Voxtrot went heavy on concert footage with their video for "Steven". The latest clip from from the band's self-titled debut album, for the moody singalong "Firecracker", tends more toward narrative. The opening shots show blood dripping into a sink-- not exactly what comes to mind when you think "Voxtrot", right?

Even a "sensitive man" has his bad days. In this video, a young man leaves his wood-paneled room, gets into his car, and eats at crummy diners, while stripe-shirted singer Ramesh Srivastava puts in face time on the track's confident chorus. Later, our protagonist watches as a couple get romantic at the miniature golf course, and it's probably not because he wants to warn them about the next hole's tricky dogleg right (you have to get past the windmill first, duh). Uh oh, more blood.
