Video: Lil Mama [ft. Kadar]: "G-Slide/ Tour Bus"
Brooklyn teen rapper Lil Mama's "Lipgloss" was poppin', and her tour bus is, too (hell, she even made us want to listen to Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend" on the surprisingly awesome remix). After Mama works some more pixie-dust magic, a schoolbus turns a pimped-out purple in the video for her second single, "G-Slide/ Tour Bus". Her even more adorable lil' sister introduces: "Tell 'em, Lil Mama." As if to entertain the sweet tyke, Mama starts singing a hook to the tune of "The Wheels on the Bus"-- sorta like St. Louis rapper Jibbs' "Chain Hang Low", sure. Then Mama and a nicely choreographed crew of kids show off their "G-Slide" moves in a Brooklyn neighborhood, accompanied by incongruously menacing synth-rap verses, plus a guest spot from rapper Kadar. "Switching verses like sauces", Mama even puts the ubiquitous "make it rain" meme to rest, singing in a T-Pain robot voice: "I might make it flood." Just so long as the kids get to school on time.
