Hot Chip have posted what sounds like an updated mix of new song (and old live favorite) "Shake a Fist" to their MySpace page, curiously labeled "Shake a Tease". When they posted a rougher version back in June, we wrote: "'Shake a Fist'" takes the band's electro-soul in a moodier, sweatier direction-- like Justin Timberlake the moment Timbaland informs him his party has run out of coke. The track relies less on melody than another newer cut, 'My Piano', more on rhythmic clatter and squiggly synth textures."

That's still true. And the track still dissolves into weird noises after a soothing voice tells us, "If you have a pair of headphones, you'd better get 'em out and get 'em cranked up." According to Hot Chip's website, "Shake a Fist" will be available on a limited 12" this month and features Todd Rundgren (!!). The MySpace page indicates some form of the song will appear on a 2008 DFA/EMI release called Made in the Dark, presumably Hot Chip's next full-length. More details to come, I'm sure.
