Video: Beirut: "Nantes" / "The Penalty" (Live on the "Take Away Show")
La Blogothèque's "Take Away Show" sure does love Beirut's Zach Condon. That makes sense: When we first heard from Beirut last year, the story was that Condon had developed his shambling gypsy-folk sound while bumming around Europe as a teenager. Well, now it looks like the Paris-based video blog is going to be filming live-on-the-streets versions of the entire The Flying Club Cup album-- in Brooklyn, no less. Details can be found in the text accompanying the video of the just-posted Beirut "Take Away Show", shot in Paris, which features "Nantes" and "The Penalty". These same two songs also form the first two installments of the Brooklyn shoot, embedded below. All will eventually appear on a website set up for the album.
