This morning we pointed you toward the 77Boadrum website an "online companion" to the 7/7/07 performance of "77Boadrum", the piece for 77 drummers that was conceived and directed by Japanese psych-rock demigods Boredoms. The site was created by Viva-Radio and it contains peformance footage and interviews with Eye and most of the drummers. Now we're updating with a special treat.

Sometimes I'm secretly glad that I missed this show. Like a late-1970s evening at the Paradise Garage or a day at the 1893 World's Columbian Exhibition here in Chicago, I wonder if the actual event could ever compare to the image of perfection that exists in my mind. Better to just look at still photographs and read pieces like this one and let my imagination run wild. It's like that famous quote about radio: It beats television because the pictures are better.

And then I see this, video of the first 5:40 of "77Boadrum", and realize that, yeah, reality trumps... hard. I wish I could have been there.
