New Music: Justice [ft. Pase Rock of Spank Rock]: "Waters of Nazareth (Erol Alkan's Durr Durr Durrrrrr Re-edit)" [Stream]

French electro-house metalheads Justice, meet freak-nasty U.S. rapper Pase Rock. Los Angeles DJ and Dim Mak head Steve Aoki drops a guest verse from Pase Rock (of "Lindsay Lohan's Revenge" fame) over Justice's "Waters of Nazareth" as part of debut mix album Pillowface and His Airplane Chronicles. The original track's synth-crunching, metal-inspired take on disco was good enough to make it Pitchfork's #35 track of 2006 and help debut full-length garner a Best New Music nod.

Aoki goes with London DJ Erol Alkan's "Durr Durr Durrrrrr Re-edit", a B-side from the original "Waters of Nazareth" single. Pase Rock's verse isn't anything special-- "money, love, sex, drugs," he recites, along the way name-dropping both the TV show "Lost" and his panty-dropping muse-- and outside of a mix setting the track ends too quickly to build up much momentum. Still, any excuse to hear "Waters of Nazareth" is fine by us. Especially when it lets us imagine Justice duo Gaspard Auge and Xavier de Rosnay swapping drugs and gynecological expertise with Pase Rock. Uh, maybe forget that last part.
