Video: PJ Harvey: "When Under Ether"
PJ Harvey's latest, White Chalk, came out today in the UK, though stateside record buyers will still have to wait another torturous week. Pitchfork's Joshua Klein has deemed the album worthy of a 6.8, writing, "On White Chalk, there might be more Polly Jean Harvey than we've ever heard before-- if not quite enough of what traditionally falls under the 'PJ Harvey' moniker." We've been spinning first single "When Under Ether" for a few weeks now. This new video probably isn't official, but its candid studio footage of Harvey performing and overseeing the mixing of White Chalk makes for an engaging, if incongruously lighthearted, accompaniment to the song's piano-based pallor.
