Video Premiere: Caribou: "She's the One" (Live in Dan Snaith's home studio)
Caribou are about to begin the North American leg of their tour behind the dreamily melodic Andorra, an album that seems certain to win them a bunch of new fans. We've seen some live video here from the band, captured in July at France's Midi Festival, which demonstrates how they'll tackle the new songs. Caribou recently videotaped a dress rehearsal of sorts at Dan Snaith's home studio in London, a space they like to call "the pink room," for reasons that will soon be obvious. This backdrop for "She's the One" is just about perfect, conjuring images of a turn-of-the-1970s television studio beaming psychedelic colors into homes that were just switching over from black-and-white. And the performance, with bassist Andy Lloyd handling most of the vocals and leader Dan Snaith chiming in on the chorus, ably captures the delicate mix of the original.
