Architecture in Helsinki's newest video from Places Like This is as much about a pyrotechnician character called Andy "Three Fingers" Davis as it is about the Australian collective's schizophrenic "Debbie". "I'm an expert working with dangerous materials," Davis explains at one point, recounting his firestarting CV and describing the dangers he (and his employers) face. "I've even worked with Jet," he observes. "I don't know who those guys are, though." The song itself is off-kilter indie pop, with splashing hi-hats, surprisingly funky guitars, horns, and a deranged falsetto. Unfortunately, neither Davis's accomplishments nor the power of the groove are enough to help the pyrotechnician in his efforts to pick up Architecture's keyboardist. Nice try, mate.
