Video: Midlake: "Roscoe" (Live at the Wall of Sound Festival)
Denton, Texas-based rockers Midlake have a warm touch of classic-rock to their psych-pop, the kind of style you'd expect to sound great on a warm night at a music festival. No song from their 2006 album The Trials of Van Occupanther would be better suited for that setting than "Roscoe", an anthem that's both woodsy and spacey-- and Pitchfork's #96 track of 2006. Here Midlake can be seen playing "Roscoe" at the recent Wall of Sound Festival, in a video by A Silence Production. From the crowd's cheer of recognition at the opening keyboard riff, it sounds like they know they're in for a treat, too.
