As Canadian indie all-stars the New Pornographers' sound grows to include increasingly complex arrangements, it gets harder and harder to squeeze them into the backseat of a car. Still, New Pornos Carl Newman and Kathryn Calder manage to find room for an acoustic guitar and an accordion in this episode of "The Black Cab Sessions". Here they perform "All the Old Showstoppers", from latest album Challengers, and somehow make the song come off cleanly despite a number of speed bumps. "Got a good leg workout there," Calder laughs. The opening footage causes some concern, however, that this session might use a white cab. Scandal?!
