"I Rock" (Live at the Pitchfork Music Festival)

Video: Cool Kids: "I Rock" (Live at the Pitchfork Music Festival)

Cool Kids' 12" single for "88", which features "I Rock" (née "Mikey Rocks") on the flip, has finally arrived, according to the Fool's Gold label's MySpace. That's great news, because the strength of those two simultaneously retro and forward-looking hip-hop tracks helped the Chicago duo earn Pitchfork's Rising designation way back in April. Performing "I Rock" at the Pitchfork Music Festival this summer, Cool Kids make sure to get the hometown crowd's hands in the air before turning up bass that'll shake your computer speakers even more surely than your trunk. We're still waiting like everybody else for the official release of their forthcoming debut, Totally Flossed Out. Kids these days.
