"Knife (Girl Talk remix)" (Live at the Pitchfork Music Festival)

Video: Girl Talk [ft. Grizzly Bear]: "Knife (Girl Talk remix)" (Live at the Pitchfork Music Festival)

Our most recent looks at video from the Pitchfork Music Festival brought us clips of Craig Taborn and Deerhunter beneath the afternoon sun. Pittsburgh laptop mixmaster Girl Talk, aka Gregg Gillis, kept festival attendees' hands waving well past dusk. Gillis is already renowned for his batshit live shows, but seeing some of our favorite artists playing in front of thousands of people never fails to be one of the festival's biggest thrills. Here, Gillis starts with beats from Clipse's "Wamp Wamp" as he goes into his Pitchfork-premiered remix of Grizzly Bear's gorgeous Yellow House betrayal fantasy "Knife". Grizzly man Edward Droste himself is on hand with a microphone. Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, also visible on stage, later aptly described the scene: "It was nuts, pandemonium." So, basically, a Girl Talk show.
