"The Wrath of Marcie"

Video: The Go! Team: "The Wrath of Marcie"

Marcie may be pissed, but the Go! Team song that bears Marcie's name is the group's usual rocket-fueled, tambourine-jangling cheer, almost to a fault. The video for "The Wrath of Marcie" is also perky, also basically what we've come to expect from the Go! Team (and director Bob Jaroc). Most of the time putting three or more smaller screens within the frame, it can be as overwhelming as the Brighton, UK-based band's busy blend of indie-rock, twee, old-school hip-hop, "Airwolf", and Bring It On. The concert footage here of Ninja and the band is a lot like the previously posted live clips from their second album, Proof of Youth, or the endearing "My World" video. And the frame showing a montage of retro images could've been clipped from that record's other videos. Oh well, a good pep rally needs a theme, right? At least they didn't make it Hawaiian Shirt Day.
