Video: Estelle: "Wait a Minute (Just a Touch)"
Fitting for an austere record extolling the wisdom of delayed gratification, the treatment for UK sing-rapper Estelle's "Just a Touch" is an exercise in self-denial. The mature setting is unsensational-- subdued art gallery/club interior, spliced with oak-and-brownstone-lined boulevards-- and the plot is a bare-bones affair, a simple A-B progression from the dancefloor to a stoop-top smooch. Even Estelle's wardrobe is pared down to a single gold-checkered, butterfly-shaped dress. Either John Legend's Homeschool Records didn't want to allocate the big music video budget, or directing duo NEON didn't want to spend it.
