New Music: Hot Chip: "Made in the Dark" [Stream]

Things I learned reading Time magazine's latest cover story, "Why We Love" (via The Plank):

1. "Every living human is a descendant of a long line of successful maters."

2. "If it's easy for a glance to become a kiss and a kiss to become much more, that's because your system is trip-wired to make it hard to turn back once you're aroused."

3. "The problem with romance is that it doesn't always deliver the goods."

Wow! Hot Chip knew about #1, anyway, as evidenced by the title track from the UK electro-pop outfit's forthcoming Made in the Dark. What's actually surprising about "Made in the Dark" is that it's a piano ballad, filled in with some sultry guitar licks. No wonder Hot Chip opened their DJ Kicks mix with Grovesnor's previously posted "Nitemoves", another track that could soundtrack a couple of successful maters on a TV drama, making something-something (Love? Lust? Or was it only "Nitemoves"?) in the dark.
