Video Premiere: Cut Copy: "Lights & Music"
You've got lights, you've got cameras, you've got "Lights & Music". Bitchin' technology. We posted the new single from Cut Copy's forthcoming sophomore album In Ghost Colours last week after the track started streaming on the Melbourne, Australia-based band's MySpace. The video for "Lights & Music" is relatively straightforward, but it matches the Tim Goldsworthy-produced track's synth-pop shimmer-- no concepts, no actors, just a band crooning melodic hooks and setting down a metronomic rhythm section, performing in front of multi-colored projections of themselves. The audio quality of the song is also much better than the MySpace stream or the mp3 rips we've heard out there, so this is probably the best way to hear "Lights & Music" until the album arrives. (Although if you can hear lights, you probably should've been the one writing this post.)
