New Music: Ted Leo: "Nothing Much to Say" (Live on "Fair Game") [MP3/Stream]
Still living with Living With the Living? So is Ted Leo, although the veteran punk rocker has moved onto the 2007 LP's Chumbawumba-covering bonus EP in this live studio recording for Public Radio International show "Fair Game" (on which, full disclosure, Pitchfork contributors have appeared). Leo is in solo Billy Bragg mode here for Mo' Living EP opener "Nothing Much to Say", with a clenched, passionate vocal and only his bristling, tightly wound electric guitar strums for accompaniment. "No longer proud, I asked out loud, can anyone explain?" Leo cries out, punctuating his heady lyrics with shouts of "hey!" A punk to the core, Leo gets to the point and gets to the end in barely two minutes' time. You can hear the full session over at the "Fair Game" website, and you can hear more Leo over at his MySpace or in previous posts. Beyond that-- and general proclamations of Leo's awesomeness-- there's nothing much to say.
