"Don't You Evah"

Video: Spoon: "Don't You Evah"

Hard to top a cute little robot, so Spoon keep it basic in their video for Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga's "Don't You Evah": lo-fi live footage, shots of the band traveling on tour, and plenty of moments where the blue and red lights of the stage wash over the frame. The shaky, pixelated images have a self-referential distancing effect akin to the "Jim, could you record the talkback?" studio talkback that opens the track-- which, Pitchfork's Eric Harvey points out, is a cover of an unreleased song by former tourmates the Natural History. The video is another reminder of how percussive the recently Diplo-remixed song already is in its album version, with shakers and tambourine over a tightly wound drum beat. Also, somebody goes to the airport with some pretty impressive bedhead.
