Video: Kanye West [ft. Chris Martin]: "Homecoming"
It's back to tastefully shot Chicago scenery for Kanye West's latest video from Graduation, after a bizarre "Flashing Lights" clip that gets preceded by a "viewer discretion" warning when shown on MTV. He's joined by fellow "Homecoming" king Chris Martin of Coldplay on piano, vocal, and Lake Michigan-repping. West walks past various Chicago sights-- the El, the DuSable Museum of African American History, Millennium Park-- while Martin occasionally uses his superpowers to turn into a translucent, iPod-ad-ready dancing figure, backlit by fireworks. Common stands tall ("Can you say Chi city?") and looks on. Interestingly, "Homecoming" was the fourth UK single instead of "Flashing Lights". Do the British still like Coldplay that much? Must be they love Chicago.
