Interpol, Arcade Fire Lend Songs to "Six Feet Under" Disc

Television soundtracks are hot these days, perhaps even more popular than their motion picture counterparts. With some bands gaining many more fans due to exposure on shows like "The O.C." and "Gilmore Girls", not to mention strong sales for the discs spawned from the programs, it is not surprising to find the networks cashing in on the popularity of both the music and the shows.

On June 21, Astralwerks will release the second volume of music compiled from HBO's popular "Six Feet Under" series. The show, which begins its fifth and final season on June 6, is probably not as well known for its music as "The O.C.", but its soundtrack certainly is on par with, and perhaps even surpasses, "The O.C." as far as talent is concerned.

The first "Six Feet Under" soundtrack included songs by PJ Harvey, the Beta Band, Zero 7, and the Dandy Warhols. The new album features previously released material from Radiohead, Coldplay, Phoenix, and Death Cab for Cutie, as well as some new material. iPoders the Caesars will contribute a cover of Blue Oyster Cult's "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" (insert tired cow bell joke here).

But, the best news about this soundtrack is that it will feature two exclusive new tracks from Interpol and the Arcade Fire. Here's the tracklist:

>>Six Feet Under: Everything Ends, Music from the HBO Original Series - Vol. 2
01 Nina Simone - "Feelin' Good"
02 Jem - "Amazing Life"
03 Phoenix - "Everything Is Everything"
04 Coldplay - "A Rush of Blood to the Head"
05 Sia - "Breathe Me"
06 Radiohead - "Lucky"
07 Irma Thomas - "Time is on My Side"
08 Bebel Gilberto - "Aganj\x9C (The Latin Project Remix Edit)"
09 Interpol - "Direction"
10 The Caesars - "(Don't Fear) The Reaper"
11 Death Cab for Cutie - "Transatlanticism"
12 The Arcade Fire - "Cold Wind"
