Iron & Wine Announce Short Tour

Now that the dust kicked up by the Woman King EP has settled, and the future dust of a collaboration with Calexico remains temporarily undisturbed, Sam Beam's yellowed folk vehicle Iron & Wine will be taking its new-found appreciation for a nice loud banjo on the road this June. And, really, you should do your best to catch him if you can, 'cause this may be your last chance until well after the fall release of that seven-song EP with Calexico on Overcoat Recordings.

The 14-date jaunt will kick off in Beam's native Florida-- Tallahassee, to be exact-- on June 8, and wind its way through a few of these United States, towing rootsters Band of Horses along in the opening slot. And, yes, Beam will be one of the many to play this year's surprisingly loaded Bonnaroo festival, which will also include sets by Joanna Newsom, Modest Mouse, My Morning Jacket, Kings of Leon, Secret Machines, Mouse on Mars, RjD2, the Frames, Brazilian Girls, and a shit-ton of bands that sound like Widespread Panic. Please, Sam, just promise us you'll stay away from the patchouli. Dates:
