PAS/CAL Prepare Debut LP for Release

Pitchfork reported long, long ago on a new PAS/CAL LP to be released in early 2005. As you might already know, it is well past the "early" part of this year. But good things take time, comrades, and to calm the masses, the Detroit band have announced not only a title but a tracklist for the album. Citizen's Army Uniform, due out some unspecified fraction of our attention span from now, will be the band's first full-length on Le Grand Magistery Records. PAS/CAL, who delightfully combine old-timey guitar progressions, synthesizers, and falsetto better than most bands around, had a busy year in 2004 with the release of their second Le Grand Magistery EP. They followed that by launching their own label, Romantic Air Records, and releasing a limited-edition Christmas 12". As for the soon-to-be full-length, go pop with the tracklist:

01 The Truth Behind All the Vogues She Sold
02 Citizen's Army Uniform
03 O Honey, We're Ridiculous
04 We Made Our Way, We Amtrakked
05 Dearest Bernard Living
06 What Happened to the Sands
07 Poor Maude
08 The Glorious Ballad of the Ignored
09 Summer Is Almost Here
10 Suite Cherry
11 You Were Too Old For Me

According to PAS/CAL's Bernard Levine, the band is also planning a limited-edition vinyl version of Citizen's Army Uniform running along the same lines of last year's Christmas single If you don't see this album released in some form any time soon...well, you'll get a couple chances to bug Levine and company about it in person:

09-30 New York, NY - Rothko *
10-01 Philadelphia, PA - The Manhattan Room

* with Sprites and Trembling Blue Stars
