Film School Bounce Back, Hit the Road
As previously reported, this is what happened to the San Francisco-based dream pop band Film School at a stop in Philadelphia during their last tour (which, btw, they valiantly finished). Since then, the band's van has been recovered by the Philadelphia police department, but it was found empty and in not-so-good shape.
Fortunately, Film School have some solid friends who happen to be in bands, and two benefit shows have been organized. Both will take place at San Francisco's Bottom of the Hill this week. In fact, the first gig, featuring Nuke Infusion, Cheetah Speed, and Henry Miller Sixtet, happens tonight at 8:30. The second, scheduled for April 28 (Friday), will see the Lovemakers, Oranger, and Boyskout jamming out of generosity. Charity rocks.
With the terrible trek in the past and benefit shows in the present, the ghost of Film School future depicts the band remounting the touring horse for a two-month North American jaunt, including a stop in the cursed city of Philadelphia. Look for a van wrapped in barbed wire and surrounded by an electric dog fence at all times.
