Shearwater, Court & Spark Tour
Britt Daniel sang, "Let the distance bring us together again," and fellow Austinite (and ornithologist) Jonathan Meiburg has followed suit. The Okkervil River member parted ways with longtime collaborator and Okkervil River leader Will Sheff on Palo Santo, the most recent Shearwater album, and it has been smooth sailing ever since. Palo Santo has received great reviews, including from this very website.
But no Americana band worth its weight in Gram Parsons' ashes is complete without a tour of the U.S. Fortunately, this is exactly what the Shearwater crew have in store. It will be the band's first U.S. tour since the release of Palo Santo, and they will be accompanied on most dates by the Court & Spark, who will be supporting their own 2006 full-length, Hearts.
