Video: The Streets: "Deluded in My Mind"

When Mike Skinner set out to produce the longest music video in recorded human history, and enlisted his fans to help make it, we knew we were in for something right barmy. But nothing could quite prepare us for the result, a regular panoply of home video antics, featuring man-on-the-street interviews, an accident prone gal, homicidal Playmobil characters, a cursed thoroughfare, meta-narratives, song-and-dance numbers, philosophy, destitution, and some creature that looks suspiciously like Harry from Harry and the Hendersons!! Oh right, and apparently there's Streets music in there someplace too.

Skinner orchestrated the whole 20-minute mess, called "Deluded in My Mind", for MTV's 25th anniversary. The curious may view it on the Streets' official website-- just navigate the Royce to the "Insurance" building and click the door with the "4" above it, then click the television. Or, if you're lazy, just click "The Shed" at the bottom of the page.

Speaking of the Shed, and also guaranteed to raise eyebrows: NME.com is reporting that Skinner recently shacked up with rabble-rouser Pete Doherty in the former's London studio-- the Shed-- to record a new version of "Prangin' Out". The new tune may appear on the next single, and features Doherty reciting some lines he penned, in a style that "reminds me of his early stuff," said Skinner. Insert joke about Doherty drug arrests here.
