Only one man could successfully write and record a wistful, feel-good, disco-danceable, three-minute ode to parasites and pestilence-- with a chorus that includes the word "subcutaneous"-- and that man is Stephin Merritt.

Our grim Future Bible Hero here interprets the storied third plague-- that of locusts-- with new ditty "The Meaning of Lice", set to appear on the Plague Songs compilation. As previously reported, the disc, already out in the UK, hits U.S. stores via 4AD on November 7.
