Robyn Says "Konichiwa" to UK With Expanded Robyn
Do you know what it takes to love Robyn? For starters, forget everything you thought you knew about the 90s pop splash, because she's reinvented, reinvigorated, and pretty much unstoppable nowadays. Following up November's Rakamonie EP, Robyn will finally treat UK audiences to a deluxe edition of Robyn, her comeback LP, originally released way back in April 2005 in the anti-diva's native Sweden (and landing at #39 on Pitchfork's Top 50 that year). The UK edition of Robyn arrives April 2 and comes bolstered with slick new cover art, Teddybears cover "Cobrastyle" (off the Rakamonie EP), and "With Every Heartbeat" (Robyn's dazzling collaboration with producer Kleerup), as well as brand new versions of "Robotboy" and "Burn Like You". Single "Konichiwa Bitches" paves the way, hitting UK shops March 26, backed with remixes from Trentemøller, Menta, and Oscar the Punk. Check out the zany video in Forkcast right now.
Robyn celebrates her UK foray with a gig at London's Metro on March 2.
And given the current trickle-down rate from Europe to the UK to the Land of Freedom, we unfashionable Americans can anticipate a U.S. release of Robyn in, like, third quarter 2008 or something.
