Liars, Lightning Bolt, Oneida on Mighty Robot DVD
The Brooklyn-based underground performance space / art collective Mighty Robot threw some of the best shows and parties New York City saw at the beginning of this young millennium, introducing the world to bands like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, Les Savy Fav, and more.
Mighty Robot met a premature end in late 2005, but thanks to the power of digital media and the fine people at Contact Records, it's not forgotten.
On the DVD Sleep When You Are Dead, out June 30, Contact has collected 73 minutes of performances from various Mighty Robot events in and around their Williamsburg space. Bands representin' include Liars, Lightning Bolt, Oneida, Ex Models, Coachwhips, Hospitals, Sightings and more. Shows from 2004 and 2005 are featured, as is a documentary on the last two days of the venue's life.
