Over his many years as a respected NYC songwriter and radio host of WNYC's "Spinning on Air" and "Evening Music", David Garland's crossed paths with all sorts of similarly tuneful folks. And he's roped quite a few of these companions along for his eighth full-length album, Noise in You, due July 24 on Family Vineyard.

Sufjan Stevens contributes vocals and/or oboe to six tracks, including "Every Bird", "Xs for Eyes", "Prelude 1", and "Noise in You", while Deerhoof's Greg Saunier lays down some drums. Mira Romantschuk (of ethereal folkies Mi and L'au) joins in on the fun for "Every Bird", "Noise in You", and "Prelude 1". Viking Moses! helps round out the nest on "Bird", and, elsewhere, Diane Cluck sings on "Diorama".

On his MySpace, Garland calls Noise "both my most personal and most accessible album." Catch him at Brooklyn's Union Hall on the night of the album's release (July 24 in case you missed it).
