Franz's Alex, Final Fantasy on Immaculate Machine LP

Canadian trio Immaculate Machine-- comprised of New Pornographer (and A.C. Newman niece) Kathryn Calder, guitarist Brooke Gallupe, and drummer Luke Kozlowski-- whip up some pretty immaculate, hook-laden pop on their latest long-player, Immaculate Machine's Fables.

The disc arrives June 12 on Mint Records and gets a boost from a couple celebrity guests. Franz Ferdinand stud Alex Kapranos provides backing vocals on Fables opener "Jarhand", while Final Fantasy's Owen Pallett lends his fabled string arrangements to several jams. All three Immaculate Machinists share lead vocal duties.

Not to be confused with Extraordinary Machine or Rage Against the Machine or "Welcome to the Machine", Immaculate Machine tour the bejesus out of Canada in the coming months. They break for a week to play five gigs in London, and will creep into the U.S. this fall.
